Will I Feel Hungry on a Low-Carb, High-Fat Diet?

One of the many advantages of the correct level of carbohydrate restriction on a ketogenic diet is that after a few days, hunger and cravings begin to disappear compared to following a low-calorie, low-fat diet.

When carbohydrates constitute a large part of your diet, low blood sugar reactions cause hunger and cravings. On a ketogenic plan – which controls both the quality and quantity of carbohydrate-rich foods – blood sugar and insulin levels stabilize. Consuming the moderate amount of protein recommended on a low-carb diet also manages hunger. Unlike a low-fat diet, a low-carb plan allows the consumption of naturals fats which provide satiety.

Carbs keep you feeling hungry; natural fats sate your hunger.

Limiting yourself to consuming less than about 50 grams of carbs a day, your body will begin to access its fat stores. This process initiates both fat loss and the production of ketones, a by-product of fat oxidation, which also suppresses hunger.

Frequently, people who have tried a variety of diets find low carb to be easier to follow because if you are hungry you can always eat. If you simply consume the prescribed amount and type of carbs recommended by the HEALcare plan, you need not count calories. A ketogenic diet means less hunger, and greater long-term success. It’s easy!
